Southern Ohio Organized and Major Crimes Task Force investigation in Peebles yields multiple arrests, seizure of drugs
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, Pike County Sheriff Tracy Evans, Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman, Portsmouth Police Chief Debby Brewer, Pike County Prosecutor Michael Davis, Scioto County Prosecutor Shane Tieman, Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless and New Boston Police Chief Carl Compton announced that on Wednesday, April 26, two narcotics-related search warrants were executed on Fairview Road in Peebles.
The Southern Ohio Organized and Major Crimes Task Force, along with the Portsmouth Police SWAT, Chillicothe Police SWAT, Ironton Police K9 Unit and Pike County Sheriff’s deputies, served narcotics-related search warrants at 1159 and 1163 Fairview Road in Peebles.
Arrested at the scene were Gene Dreher, David Irvin and Jeremiah Dreher. Large amounts of methamphetamine, marijuana, cash and firearms were allegedly recovered from the two homes.
While task force agents and deputies were on scene, a vehicle approached, believed to be driven by Clinton Keaton. Keaton had an outstanding felony warrant for felonious assault and aggravated drug possession.
Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on Fairview Road, and the driver allegedly fled on foot.
A female passenger of the vehicle, identified as Miranda Janes, was arrested without incident.
Deputies and task force agents pursued the driver, whom they recognized to be Keaton, running toward a sawmill and into the woods. Ironton Police K9 Ike and his handler apprehended Keaton in the woods behind the sawmill.
Keaton was arrested on his outstanding warrants. A search of the vehicle occupied by Keaton and Janes allegedly yielded methamphetamine, scales and Xanax.
This case is still under investigation and will be presented to a future session of the Pike County Grand Jury for consideration of additional charges. Field weights of the suspected narcotics allegedly seized during the incident are four pounds of marijuana and over 100 grams of methamphetamine.
