Ohio State Highway Patrol plans OVI checkpoint in Warren County

Lebanon – The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced today that Troopers will conduct an OVI checkpoint in Warren County tomorrow evening.

The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers. 

Based on provisional data, there have been over 450 OVI-related fatal crashes this fiscal year in Ohio.  State troopers on average make nearly 12,000 OVI arrest each year in an attempt to combat these dangerous drivers.  OVI checkpoints are designed to not only deter impaired driving but to proactively remove dangerous drives from our roadways. 

The location of the checkpoint will be announced on Thursday, September 10.
