Lebanon OSHP Post investigating a two-vehicle double-fatal crash on I-71

Lebanon - The Lebanon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle double-fatal traffic crash. The crash occurred Jan. 19 just before 1 p.m., on Interstate 71 northbound at mile marker 26 in Union Township, Warren County.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, operated by Micela Pedicone, of Lebanon, was traveling southbound when it crossed the median and entered the northbound lanes. 

A 2002 Honda Odyssey, operated by Darnell McKinney Jr. of Cincinnati, was traveling northbound when Ms. Pedicone struck Mr. McKinney head-on while in the northbound lanes.

Ms. Pedicone was the only vehicle occupant, and Mr. McKinney was the only vehicle occupant, both sustaining fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased on scene.

The Patrol was assisted at the scene by Warren County Sheriff's Office, Warren County Coroner's Office, Union Township Fire Department, Deerfield Township Fire Department, Hamilton Township Fire Department, and Barn's Towing.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lebanon Post.
