Lebanon OSHP Post investigating fatal crash

Monroe – The Lebanon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle, fatal traffic crash. The crash occurred on Oct. 17 at approximately 12:53 a.m. on Interstate 75, near milepost 30, in the City of Monroe, Warren County.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2015 Jeep Rubicon, operated by David Hicks, 37, of Moraine, was traveling southbound on Interstate Route 75 when it traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

Mr. Hicks was the only occupant and was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased by hospital staff.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted with this incident by the Middletown Police Department, Middletown Fire and EMS, and Case Towing.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
