HPD arrests Fayetteville man on multiple counts

A Fayetteville man has been arrested by Hillsboro police on drug-related charges.
On Wednesday, July 6 at 11:14 p.m., an officer of the Hillsboro Police Department executed a traffic stop on Francis J. Jordan, 34, of Fayetteville in the 100 block of North East Street.
The officer pulled Jordan's vehicle over upon the observation of a failure to have lighted taillights as required by law. While the officer was having the driver checked through the Ohio Law Enforcement Data System, Jordan attempted to destroy drugs. The officer was forced to break out the driver's side window to gain entry and take Jordan, the lone occupant, into custody.
Jordan sustained minor cuts from the broken glass in the altercation and was checked by Hillsboro Fire and Rescue before being incarcerated in the Highland County Jail. Jordan also admitted that he was trying to take one last dose of heroin before being taken into custody.
Jordan was charged with no taillights, driving under suspension, possession of drugs (heroin), possession of drug abuse instruments, obstructing official business, as well as tampering with evidence. In addition, there was an outstanding nationwide felony warrant for a drug-related charge from another agency.
Jordan was to appear in Hillsboro Municipal Court for arraignment on Thursday, July 7.[[In-content Ad]]
