On June 28, the Hillsboro Police Department received a complaint from a 21-year-old female who had been accosted while she was walking on North Elm Street in the area of Fair Street at 1:20 a.m. Two credit cards were taken from her in the altercation, and the male fled on foot. This incident remains under investigation.

At 7:54 a.m., the department received a report of a theft of money from Williams & McConnaughey Optometry. Leah reported that sometime over the weekend unknown person(s) entered the office area and took cash money. The total amount of money came to $340.
