Hamilton Post investigating 4-vehicle fatal crash on Interstate 75 in Sharonville
The Hamilton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a four-vehicle fatal crash. The crash occurred Wednesday, March 13, at 3 p.m., on Interstate 75 near mile post 17 in Sharonville, Hamilton County.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, operated by Mark Harden, 52, of Cincinnati; a 2020 Toyota Camry, operated by Richard Knesebeck, 40, of Springboro; a 2014 Volvo tractor-trailer combination, operated by Nicolae Negroiu, 67, of Canton, Mich.; and a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox, operated by Luke Williams, 19, of Maineville, were traveling south on Interstate 75.
The 2019 Chevrolet and the Toyota were traveling in the right lane. The 2019 Chevrolet allegedly struck the Toyota in the rear, losing control and traveling to the left across all lanes of travel. The Volvo allegedly struck the 2019 Equinox in the left lane of travel. After allegedly striking the 2019 Chevrolet, the Volvo traveled off the left side of the roadway into the median. The 2019 Chevrolet spun out after impact in the roadway and was allegedly struck by the 2021 Chevrolet.
Harden succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
Negroiu, Williams and Knesebeck were not injured as a result of the crash.
The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Sharonville Police Department, West Chester Township Police Department, Sharonville Fire Department & EMS, Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, Ohio Department of Transportation, Nick’s Towing Service and Millennium Towing & Recovery.
Interstate 75 southbound lanes were closed during the crash investigation but have since reopened. The crash remains under investigation by the Hamilton Post.
