Nearly four and a half years after being indicted, a Greenfield man was sentenced recently to a year in prison for meth possession.

Jason Jenkins, 53, was indicted by a Highland County grand jury in December 2024 and charged with one third-degree felony count of aggravated possession of methamphetamine. According to court records, Jenkins was arrested on the warrant on indictment in March 2025.

The indictment alleges that in June 2020, a Greenfield police officer made a traffic stop on Jenkins’ vehicle. During the traffic stop, the officer allegedly found “a plastic baggie continuing a white crystalline substance” in Jenkins’ pocket. The substance later tested positive for 3.4 grams of meth.

Jenkins pleaded guilty to the charge May 14 and was sentenced by Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss to 12 months in prison, with 52 days of jail time credit.

Jenkins is currently incarcerated in the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
