Commissioners say Happy 30th Birthday to KAMP Dovetail

Highland County Commissioners Jeremy Shaffer, Shane Wilkin and Tom Horst signed a proclamation Wednesday in recognition of the 30th anniversary of KAMP (Kids And Motivated People) Dovetail.
The commissioners presented the proclamation to Linda Allen, executive director of SATH (Supplemental Assistance to the Handicapped.)
This year's annual camp for children with special needs begins Monday, June 20 at Rocky Fork Lake State Park. A special kickoff celebration will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, June 20 at the park's amphitheater off North Shore Drive.
Allen said this year's entertainment will again include Kelly Red and the Hammerheads. In addition, there will an evening fireworks display by Rozzi's Famous Fireworks of Cincinnati. Allen said Rozzi's contributed the majority of the fireworks expenses to this 30-year celebration of KAMP Dovetail.
After the presentation, Allen thanked commissioners and all of the camp's volunteers and contributors.
The annual carnival and auction will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 22 at the Rocky Fork Lake State Park Campgrounds. Anyone with items to donate may drop them off at KAMP Dovetail on June 20-21 before 5 p.m.
