Batavia man indicted on child pornography charges

By
Clermont County Sheriff's Office, Press Release

James M. Boler, 55, of Batavia was indicted Thursday, March 21 by a Clermont County grand jury, who returned an indictment on 18 counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, all felonies of the second degree.

On Aug. 28, 2023, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) forwarded a cyber tip to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office involving child pornography allegedly being downloaded from an address in the 700 block of Kilgore Avenue in the Village of Batavia, Clermont County.

Sheriff’s Office detectives executed a search warrant at Boler’s residence on Nov. 17. During the search, detectives seized several electronic devices. Subsequent search warrants to examine the seized electronics allegedly yielded images depicting prepubescent children in various states of nudity.

Boler was arrested March 21 by Clermont County deputies without incident.

An indictment is merely a charge and is not evidence of guilt.
