18 Highland County boys soccer players named Coaches All-District; West selected Div. III Assistant Coach of the Year

The Southeast District Coaches Association named 18 Highland County athletes to the 2023 All-District boys soccer team, along with an assistant coach receiving honors in Division III.
Lynchburg-Clay assistant coach Triston West was named the Southeast District’s Division III Assistant Coach of the Year. The Mustangs earned a sectional title and a share of the Southern Hills Athletic Conference championship this year.
Leading the way for Highland County athletes were five first-team All-District honorees, including Hillsboro senior Carson Scott and McClain senior Westley Smith in Division II, along with Lynchburg-Clay juniors Jay Cordrey and Isaac Eyre and Fairfield junior Zane Matthews in Division III.
Hillsboro junior Wesley Bailey and McClain senior Jobe Lugo both earned Division II second team honors. In Division III, Lynchburg-Clay had two second-team selections in juniors Austin Bell and Josiah Burns, while Fairfield’s Larkin Friend was also selected to the Div. III second team.
Hillsboro and McClain each had two Division II Honorable Mention selections: HHS sophomore Ryan Howland and senior Keahi Mhanna, along with MHS seniors Brice Graham and Seth Weller. Lynchburg-Clay senior Americo Brioli and junior Braedon West, and Fairfield junior Logan McIntosh and senior Daniel Ward, rounded out the honorable mention players in Division III.
