    It came down to the wire, but that didn't matter for the Fairfield Lady Lions as they won a five-game match Tuesday night against Southern Hills League rival Eastern Brown, defending their home court at Grandle Gymnasium inside of Fairfield High School.
  • HHS to host Volley for the Cure Oct. 4
    Hillsboro High School volleyball teams will hold their annual "Volley for the Cure" game on Oct. 4. The Lady Indians will be taking on the Greenfield McClain Tigers. The varsity game will start at 6:15 p.m. Teams are asking the crowd to "paint" the stands pink and show their support in the fight against breast cancer and bring awareness to this worthy cause.

    The Hillsboro Lady Indians returned to the golf course and gained another win this season, defeating the Zane Trace Lady Pioneers 180-237 at the Running Fox Golf Course in Chillicothe.

    The Fairfield boys cross-country team ran at the Mason Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 10, held at Corwin-Nixon Park.

    Saturday's Ambassador Cross-Country meet belonged to Hillsboro's Collin Rothwell as he finished in first place with a time of 18:18.8. His time was 40 seconds better than that of the second-place runner.

    Two touchdowns from sophomore Mark Clifford, along with a strong defensive effort, put the Paint Valley Bearcats back on the winners' side of the scoreboard. The Bearcats defeated the Cedarville Indians 18-14, Friday night at George Knisley Field in Bainbridge for their second win in three weeks.
