Families donate to Samaritan Outreach Services

To the editor:
David, Jim and Mary Carson and Elizabeth York, the children of John and Jean Carson, donated two red buckeye trees to Samaritan Outreach Services in memory of their parents.
It is so pleasant to be able to work with our clients in a clean and welcoming environment. Our clients have told us how nice things look and that they appreciate all that has been done for them. We will always be grateful to John and Jean Carson for their vision to begin this place of hope for so many people in our county. We think that is a very fitting memorial for them.
Samaritan Outreach Services also received a generous donation from the Donald & Ruth Campbell Fund of the Community Foundation of Collier County in Naples, Fla.
In these times of doubt and difficulty, it can be comforting to know there is help available. Samaritan Outreach's mission is to give people strength and provide them with some of the tools they need until they can get back on their feet.
The loss of thousands of jobs has caused more people to seek assistance from us. We are so grateful for donations to our agency allowing us to continue to provide the assistance they need. It is only through gifts like this that we have been able to continue to offer help to those in need in Highland County.
Sincerely,
Debbie L. Mitchell,
Executive Director
