The McClain varsity girls basketball team found it difficult to score points for a second straight game, leading to a disappointing 37-36 loss to Clinton-Massie Saturday in Greenfield.

The McClain Tigers’ offensive and defensive struggles continued Friday night at Washington, where the Blue Lions handed the Tigers a 68-36 loss in a game that the Blue Lions connected on seven long balls from behind the arc.

The McClain boys varsity wrestling team was back in action Thursday night in Greenfield, where they picked up a big Frontier Athletic Conference victory over Chillicothe by a 42-24 final score.

The McClain Lady Tigers traveled to Ross County for a non-conference game Wednesday night (Dec. 13) at Adena High School, where a tough first half was too much to overcome for a 33-29 loss.

The McClain Tigers continue to battle in the tough Frontier Athletic Conference, as they keep building up their program with each game played.

Saturday afternoon saw the McClain Lady Tigers travel to Fayette County and earn a Frontier Athletic Conference victory over the host Washington Lady Blue Lions, 36-22.

Mount St. Joseph University landed 38 athletes on the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's fall All-Academic Team.

The McClain boys and girls varsity wrestling team opened the season at home against Frontier Athletic Conference foe Jackson. The Lady Tiger grapplers were victorious, 30-24, while the boys lost a close one to the visiting Ironmen.

It was a packed house that filled the McClain gymnasium Friday night to watch the McClain Tigers and Miami Trace Panthers battle on the hardwood, and after four quarters of action, it was the Panthers who came out on top with a convincing 66-46 victory.

The McClain boys varsity basketball team saw their overall record drop to 1-1 on the season after a disappointing 69-51 loss to Frontier Athletic Conference foe Jackson Tuesday night in Greenfield.

Five football players combined from Highland County were selected 2023 All-Ohio for their overall play in Divisions III and IV, respectively.

The Division IV and V football All-Ohio teams were announced Tuesday by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association.
