The 41st graduating class of Southern State Community College’s practical nursing program was honored during a special pinning ceremony held Aug. 20, in the college’s Central Campus auditorium. Eleven students were recognized for completion of the college’s one-year certificate program.

Bright Local School District announces free and reduced lunch policy
Bright Local School District announced its 2010-2011 program year policy for free and reduced priced meals for students unable to pay the full price of meals or milk served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast, After School Care Snack or Special Milk Program.

 Classes for students attending McClain High School will begin on Thursday, Aug.19.  All students attending McClain are to report at 7:40 a.m. to the McClain Gymnasium for an opening assembly.

Welcome to a new school year from Hillsboro High School
The Hillsboro High School building will be open Thursday, Aug. 12 from 4-6 p.m. Students and parents are welcome to walk around the building and view the rooms. Teachers may or may not be available during that time. Teachers will be available during parent-teacher conferences Oct. 27 and March 24 from 3-9 p.m. to meet with parents.
