| Strokes for Strokes raises $2,100 |
The annual Strokes for Strokes golf tournament welcomed 80 participants who enjoyed 18 holes of golf to raise $2,100 for the Adena Greenfield Medical Center's Stroke rehabilitation program. Proceeds from this tournament will be used to purchase educational materials for the center's stroke library that features helpful post-recovery information for stroke survivors and their families. Descendants of Lewis Gilmore and Stella Vance Mercer met on Sunday, June 27 at the Fairfield Local School for their annual family reunion, with 120 in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Mercer were the parents of eight daughters: Bess Duncan, Opal Murray, Maxine Patton, Frances Wiggins, Jeannette Miller, Jane Cannon, Hilda Lucas, and Kathryn Karnes. Brad Barber, Highland County Board of Realtors Association Executive, was the guest speaker at the Aug. 26 Realtors board meeting at the Ponderosa Banquet Center in Hillsboro. After Realtors and their affiliates enjoyed a lunch sponsored by NB&T, Barber discussed the Realtors Code of Ethics.
