Scoring a combined 33 runs between the two Highland County counterparts, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats gained a walk-off win over Lynchburg-Clay as Megan Botts hit a game-winning two-out triple to send WHS to a 17-16 Southern Hills Athletic Conference win Tuesday night.

On Tuesday night, the Whiteoak Wildcats gained the momentum of the Southern Hills Athletic Conference game with their two-out hitting in the fifth inning to defeat rival Lynchburg-Clay, 3-0.

    For the first four and a half innings, the Whiteoak Wildcats and Fairfield Lions were battling in a pitcher’s duel with the score tied at two. Then the Wildcats’ bats got hot in the 75-degree weather, and the game took a big lean toward the direction of the host Wildcats.
