The Fairfield Lady Lions opened their regular season Wednesday the same way they spent most of their games during last season’s regional run … with a victory. The Lady Lions controlled all aspects of their Southern Hills Athletic Conference game against the visiting Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs, winning via a 10-0 run-rule victory after five innings.

    LEESBURG — One day after the game was originally scheduled, the Fairfield Lions hosted their first game of the 2017 season Wednesday with the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs visiting for a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game. The score was close through the first four innings, but LC was able to break away in the later innings, eventually winning by a 10-2 score.

    The Whiteoak Wildcats were led on the mound by Evan Brill Tuesday afternoon, where 15 strikeouts later, the Wildcats won by a 7-2 score, earning a Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory.
