Plans for the Thanksgiving feast often begin for area women weeks before the actual day.

The pie-baking and other special preparations take days, and  on the actual day of Thanksgiving, they are up at the crack of dawn to make sure the turkey is done on time and that everything else is as perfect as possible for the family tradition.

And a new tradition also has happened in southern Ohio, that includes an afternoon/evening at Christmas at the Cabin near Bainbridge.

Janny Brizius reports that she is getting many call and inquiries to confirm that the Cabin will indeed be open on Thanksgiving afternoon/evening during the traditional  Thanksgiving day hours of 4-9 p.m.

Christmas at the Cabin is an authentic old log cabin on the Cave Road, just off of U.S. Route 50, midway between Hillsboro and Chillicothe. It is simply stuffed with beautiful hand-crafted wares from artisans – both locally and across the nation – all for sale for your Christmas decorating and gift-giving. All are priced right, too, because Janny will not accept any overpriced items at the shop.

The cabin is open through December 18 daily except Mondays. (Tuesday thru Sat. 10 am-5pm and Sundays 1pm-5pm.)
